The map

See where your bills and their photos were, on a map, and open any of them from where it happened.

The map shows where your bills were, and the photos on them that carry a place of their own. It holds every bill you started or have a seat on, except one you hid. A bill has a place when the phone that started it shared where it was: TabApp asks your browser when you start a bill or add a photo, and if you say no, the bill is kept with no place and is not on the map.

How to use the map

  1. Open the map from Map in Photos and places on Home, or from Map, "Where your bills were", in Me.
  2. A round pin is a bill; a small picture is a photo. Pins close together become a number: press it to zoom in.
  3. Press a pin. A sheet rises with the place's bills, newest first, each with its day and total, and their photos. Press a bill, or Open and its name, to go to it.
  4. Search for a place moves the map there, and Show all places brings every pin back into view.

The line under the bar says how many bills and photos are in view, out of all of them.

Worked example: Maya's summer

Maya organised Luigi's Trattoria in London, and is on the four bills of the Lisbon weekend tab. Tom added a photo of the Heathrow coffee to its bill.

Her map opens with "5 bills and 1 photo, all in view": a pin in London for Luigi's, one at Heathrow for the coffee with Tom's photo beside it, and three in Lisbon. She zooms in on Lisbon, and the line reads "3 bills and 0 photos in view, of 5 and 1". She presses the pin for Dinner at Ramiro: the sheet lists it as "Sat 12 Jul, Lisbon weekend (tab)", with its total, 96.00.

If something stops you

  • "No bills or photos with a place yet". None of your bills was started with a place. A bill started where your browser was not allowed to share its place has none.
  • "The map needs a connection." It comes back by itself when you are online.
  • A bill is missing from the map. A bill you hid is left off it, as it is left off Home and the gallery; it stays on the map of everyone else on it. Find it under Hidden on Home, and Show on my home again in its settings brings it back.
