Home, Bills, Tabs and Me

The bar at the foot of the screen leads to the four places in TabApp: Me, Tabs, Bills and Home, with the create button in the middle. Home says where you stand and what needs you. Bills and Tabs list everything you are on. Me holds your settings and the rest of the app.

How to use Home

1. Read the two tiles at the top. You owe and You're owed total your bills and tabs, one line for each currency. With one currency, the line beneath says how many people it is spread over.
2. Press a tile to open Bills showing only what needs action.
3. Work down Needs your action. Each row names the bill, or the tab, beneath it:
   • "says they paid": press Confirm once the money has reached you.
   • "You owe": press Pay to see how to pay.
   • "has not paid": the row opens the bill's payments, where you can send a reminder.
   • "Claim your items": the row opens the bill, ready for you to claim.
4. Use the two buttons at the top: the magnifying glass searches everything, and the bell opens your Inbox, with a count of what you have not read.

Below the actions, Photos and places shows a peek of your Gallery of receipt photos and your Map of where your bills were, when there is something to show.

How to use the Bills list

1. Press Bills in the bar. Every bill you are on is listed, a bill in a tab included, under the day each last changed, most recent first.
2. Read a row: its state's mark, its name, and at the end what you owe or are owed on it, or the bill's total when nothing is between you and anyone. A dot after the name means something on it waits on you.
3. Press a chip to narrow the list: Needs action, Open, Ready for payment, Settled, Hidden or Has receipt. The state chips widen the list among themselves; the other chips narrow it.
4. Press the search button to search the list by a bill's name, its place, or the names of the people on it.
5. Press New bill to start one.

A hidden bill is listed only under Hidden, or when you search for it.

Tabs in the bar is the same list for your tabs, with the chips Open, Settled, Closed and Hidden, and New tab.

How to search everything

1. On Home, press the search button. The field is ready to type in.
2. Type a name, a place or an amount. Results come as you type, grouped under Bills, Tabs, Items, Payments and People.
3. A group shows its first three; press Show all for the rest.
4. Press a result to open it. A person opens Bills, searched for their name.

An amount finds an item's price, a bill's total, someone's share or a payment of exactly that much, in every currency unless you type one.

What is in Me

Me has your profile and these rows: Payment methods, Notifications, Account, Recently deleted, Groups, People, Map and Gallery.

Worked example: Maya after Luigi's

Luigi's Trattoria is Ready for payment, Maya paid the 77.66, and Priya has said she paid her 19.25. Maya opens Home:

• You're owed reads 58.96, from 3 people. Priya's payment does not count until Maya confirms it.
• Needs your action has "Priya says they paid 19.25", with Confirm, and "Tom and Alex have not paid 39.71", which opens the bill's payments.

Maya presses the search button and types 19.25. The line beneath the field reads "2 found for 19.25.": under Bills, Luigi's Trattoria as Priya's share, and under Payments, "Priya paid you".

If something stops you

• A bill is missing from Bills. It may be hidden. Press Hidden, or search for it.
• "Nothing matches." No bill fits the chips and the search together. Press Clear to show them all again.
• No connection. Home and Bills show the bills saved on this device, and say so. Confirming a payment needs a connection.
