The gallery
Every photo on your bills in one place, from scanned receipts to the table, with search, filters and a way back to each bill.
The gallery holds the photos on every bill you started or have a seat on: the receipt photo of a bill made by scanning, and any photo someone added to a bill, such as the table. Everyone on a bill sees its photos. A bill you hid is left out.
How to add a photo to a bill
- Open the bill and press Bill settings.
- Under Gallery, press Add photo.
- Press Take Photo or Choose File on a phone, or drop the picture in on a computer, then press Upload Image.
Photos are added while the bill is open, by anyone with a seat on it, and with a connection.
How to use the gallery
- Open it from Gallery in Photos and places on Home, or from Gallery in Me.
- Each photo shows its bill's name and its day. Search by bill or place finds a bill by name.
- Filter narrows it to settled or unsettled bills, an amount you owe, a range of days, or bills you started; the bar then says how many photos are shown, of how many. Newest first changes the order, and View shows a list instead of a grid.
- Press a photo to open it full screen, with its place among the rest, such as "1 of 2". Open the bill goes to its bill.
To remove a photo, open the bill's Bill settings, press the photo under Gallery and press Delete. Undo puts it back.
Worked example: Tom's coffee and Luigi's receipt
Maya started Luigi's Trattoria by scanning its receipt, and Tom added a photo of the Heathrow coffee to its bill in the Lisbon weekend tab.
Maya's gallery says "2 photos", the coffee first, as it was added last. Opened, it reads "1 of 2", headed Heathrow coffee, with "Fri 11 Jul. In Lisbon weekend (tab)" beneath. She types "luigi" in the search, and the bar reads "1 of 2 photos": the receipt, from "Sat 14 Jun".
If something stops you
- "No photos yet". None of your bills has a photo. A photo you add to a bill, a receipt or the table, shows here.
- There is no Add photo. The bill is Ready for payment or settled, you are offline, or you have no seat on it.
- There is no Delete. Only the organiser removes a photo from a bill, while it is open and with a connection.
- "The gallery needs a connection." It comes back by itself when you are online.
