The people in a group

See who is in a group and their role. The owner and admins add people, make someone an admin, and take people off it.

A group's People lists everyone in it with their role: Owner, Admin or Member, or Name only for someone added by name who has not joined with an account. The owner and admins look after who is in the group. Changing who is in a group changes no tab or bill: each of those keeps its own people.

How to add people to a group

  1. Open the group and press the row of its people at the top, or open the group's menu and press People.
  2. Press Add people.
  3. In Search or add a name, tick the people you share with, or type a new name.
  4. Press Add, or Add 2 people when you picked two.

They are in the group, and on nothing already started in it. To let someone join with their own account, press Invite people and send them the group's link.

How to change a role or take someone off

  1. On the group's People, press the person's row. A sheet opens with their name.
  2. Press Make admin, or Make member for an admin.
  3. Or press Take off the group. A message says they are off the group, with Undo.

Make admin is offered only for someone with an account. Nobody can change the owner, or their own role. To leave a group yourself, open the group's menu and press Leave the group.

  1. On the group's People, find Invite link, and press Reset.
  2. Press Reset link to confirm.

The old link stops working straight away. Everyone already in the group stays in it.

Worked example: Flat 4B

Maya made Flat 4B. Its People reads:

PersonRole
Maya (you)Owner
TomMember
PriyaMember
JoName only

Maya presses Tom's row and Make admin, so Tom can add people and rename the group too. Jo's row offers only Take off the group, since a name with no account cannot be an admin. Had Maya pressed it, the message would read "Jo is off the group. Their tabs and bills are as they were." Once Jo joins through the link with an account, Jo's row reads Member.

If something stops you

  • There is no Add people or Reset. Only the owner and admins change who is in the group.
  • Pressing a row does nothing. There is nothing you can change about that person: the owner, yourself, or anyone, if you are a member.
  • The buttons cannot be pressed. You are offline. Changing who is in the group needs a connection.
